The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

After graduating from Penn State I worked for Woodward & Lothrop in Washington DC. It was where I met my husband, Bill Barr. We both attended Penn State, but never met there. We were introduced on a blind date by a mutual friend. Bill was a pilot and went to work in 1964 for Allegheny Airlines, which later became USAir, and then USAirways. He eventually became Chief Pilot in Pittsburgh, and then Vice President of Flight Operations. He retired in 1997 at age 60, and we moved to North Carolina. Sadly, he died four years later. We have two wonderful children. Our first child, Jacqueline, is married to David McKee, and they have two children; Spencer (age 12) and Lauren (age 10 1/2). David is Senior Project Engineer for Apple Computer. They now live in State College. Our second child, J. Dustin Barr, is a lawyer in Ligonier, Pennsylvania, where he resides with his wife, Lisa, and their three children; Brynne (age 6 1/2), Cynthia Layne (age 5), and Lyla (age 3). Lisa is a Doctor in Emergency Medicine and Director of Emergency Ultrasound for her group. I continue to live in North Carolina, just outside of Edenton, on the Chowan River. I keep busy traveling to visit my children and grandchildren. I also enjoy attending the many reunions with my Delta Gamma sorority sisters. We have kept in touch for over 50 years, which is tough since I am barely out of my thirties!
